Meet The Team

Usmaan is usually found looking down the microscope! He was born in Dewsbury but qualified from the Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth. Prior to this he studied Medical Biochemistry at the University of Leeds. He has a Special interest in Endodontics after studying further in this field  at the University of Chester. He is involved with post graduate training for the Yorkshire and Humber deanery for newly qualified dentists and dental therapists. He carries out Invisalign orthodontics, a range of cosmetic treatments and takes referrals for more complex endodontic treatment cases from other dentists in the local area.

Alia is from the local area and has been a General Practitioner for over 20 years. Alia is passionate about all aspects of dentistry, working to a central philosophy that focuses on treating the patient as an individual and ensuring the best care is provided without compromise. She has an avid in interest in non-conventional therapies and always tries to make her patients feel at ease and ensures she creates a relaxed and friendly environment to treat her patients.

Alia has proven her commitment to general practice and further learning, by being awarded the MJDF certificate (RCS London) and completing the Tipton course in advanced restorative dentistry in Manchester.

Alia also enjoys cosmetic dentistry, including veneers, whitening and straightening teeth, as she believes everyone should have a smile they are proud of.

Alia is committed to her own professional development to ensure she can always deliver excellent care for her patients. She is trained in Invisalign, Quick Straight Teeth and and recently Reveal orthodontic treatment options to straighten teeth and is trained to restore implants.

Alia is also committed to the development of others. She has been part of Yorkshire Deanery Foundation Dental Programme since 2011, mentoring and training newly qualified dentists in working in secondary care.

At a more personal level Alia loves to experience new cultures through travel, enjoys cooking and keeping fit. She regularly gets involved in local community and charity projects and loves to read and enjoys meeting new people.

Maisha is from the local area and qualified from the University of Leeds with a degree in Master and Bachelor of Dental surgery and Bachelor of Science. Maisha has been keen in getting involved with the local community to promote good oral health. She has recently been involved with the Dentaid charity and carried out local primary school visits to help educate children about their teeth. As well as being proficient at general dentistry, Maisha also carries out Invisalign orthodontics and a range of cosmetic treatments. 

From attending the practice as a young child to now working here, Maisha strongly believes in the practices’ ethos, recognises and appreciates the fantastic service provided at DDC and aims to maintain and uphold these standards. 

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, loves to read and travel.

Faiz is dedicated to the pursuit of oral health, and modern dentistry. In order to achieve all this, he is continually developing his skills to help his patients get the highest standard treatment. Faiz has also been an educational supervisor where he was able to transfer his knowledge and skills on to new dentists.

Faiz has completed the MFDS making him a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. He is currently going through the succession of completing his diploma in Endodontics and also the MClinDent in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics.

In his free time Faiz likes indoor sports and is a self-proclaimed specialist in outdoor BBQ’s!

Antony graduated from the University of Leeds with a Master and Bachelor of Dental surgery and Bachelor of Science, with Distinction. He has a keen interest in general dentistry and supporting patients to improve their oral health. In his spare time enjoys running and keeping fit, as well as spending time with family and friends. Apart from working in general practice, Antony also works part of the time in the hospital environment – an area of dentistry he is keen to develop.

Gemma is a foundation dentist who graduated from the University of Leeds.

She loves educating people about the importance of good oral health and equipping people with the skills and knowledge to do just that. Gemma also works part time in the hospital setting and is keen to develop her skills in oral surgery. In her spare time she loves exploring hidden gems in any town or city she visits, but is happiest walking in the countryside.

Libby was born in Yorkshire and qualified from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours. Prior to this she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Leeds.

Libby is passionate about good oral health and educating her patients. She is excited to be involved in various volunteering opportunities over the course of this year and develop her clinical skills.

In her free time, she enjoys keeping fit, as well as playing tennis. She also has a passion for music and loves to play the piano
